Accreditation

The following statement made by the Department of Education accurately represents their position on accreditation: By law, the Department of Education does not act as an approval or accrediting agency. The Department is allowed only to register certain non-public schools and to collect certain prescribed data. Accreditation of schools is entirely voluntary and is achieved by adopting and maintaining the academic standards prescribed by an independent association.

The State of Florida does not accredit any schools, public or private. Hence, all accreditation in Florida is accomplished by licensed accrediting agencies. The Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (FACCS) is one of them. FACCS is recognized by the National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA) and the Florida Association of Academic Non-public Schools (FAANS) and is validated by the State of Florida. Citrus Park Christian School is accredited by Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (FACCS) and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA-CESS).
